OUR NEW SHOP!

If you are viewing this page it means that you may have ordered from Alexandra’s Pizza Fairview or Alexandra’s Pizza Lakeside / Beechville / Timberlea in the past.

Many of you know already that we recently closed both of those shops in order to consolidate them and move to our new, larger location at 28 Titus Street in Fairview. That shop opened on July 4th and we are ready to serve you!

We are so excited about this location that we want to share the good news and introduce you to our expert restaurant team members.

MEET THE ALEXANDRA’S PIZZA FAIRVIEW TEAM.

We begin with the man who started it all, founder of Alexandra’s Pizza, Dimitri Neonakis.

When the opportunity arose for Alexandra’s Pizza Fairview to expand into a new location with improved facilities, more customer seating, safer street access, better parking and a larger kitchen that could provide the ability to widen its service area from one shop, Dimitri was beyond thrilled. “For over 20 years the people of Fairview and the surrounding areas have been a huge part of Alexandra’s Pizza. I’m extremely appreciative of their continued patronage and hope they will enjoy the exciting improvements we’ve made.”

Fun fact time. In 1991 Dimitri opened his first shop on Queen Street in Halifax, named it after his first born (Alexandra, of course) and personally created all of the recipes we serve. Because these recipes became so well loved, he was able to franchise thus growing Alexandra’s Pizza to 14 locations in the maritimes. This number is 13 now as our two smaller shops are now one biggie, but you get the point!

That’s not all though. In 2017 Dimitri, also an avid pilot, created “Dream Wings” to give children with disabilities the experience of flight. To date, he and his team have flown 1000 children and their families at no cost to the participants. Oh yeah – Dimitri is also ‘that pilot guy’ who creates sky art and uplifts our spirits when needed most. He’s really quite incredible.

Many of you will recognize Joseph as he is the first Alexandra’s franchisee and can you guess where he started? Yep, Alexandra’s Pizza Fairview! We actually had to pinch ourselves when he said he wanted to be the one to head up the new Fairview location. “It’s like coming home again” He said on opening day, July 4th. “We’ve only been open a few hours and I’ve recognized almost everyone that’s come in, and they’ve recognized me. Incredible. I love it here.”

Joseph is also the owner of the Grafton Street location where you will often find his twin girls doing their homework in his office. They can also be found watching the prep cooks with keen eyes. We suspect we have two future franchise owners in the making.

Rex first stared working as a master cook at Alexandra’s Pizza Queen Street over 10 years ago. Like many young people, he left Halifax a few years later for the lure of the big city, Toronto. In Toronto, Rex started his own successful carpentry business. Soon after he met Arta while on a vacation in Kossovo. Last year they finally married and Arta moved to Canada.

With the previous Covid-19 situation in Toronto, Rex and Arta did some serious soul searching. When Rex said he wanted to move home, Arta was immediately on board. They’ve only been back a short time and we are thrilled to have them with us. Especially with Rex’s pizza wizardry skills. As it turns out, Arta is a spectacular cook too. Like really do attract like! Now they both manage the new shop. Arta is still learning English, but she is very adept at figuring out what we are saying to her with our overly grand hand gestures and a lot of pointing. As smart as she is we have little doubt that she’ll be speaking English fluently in a matter of months.
